I was sitting at the dining table the other day, working on some things and there was this fancy, embossed-glass pie plate in front of me, laden with salted, roasted, in-shell peanuts, tempting me. I love salted, roasted, in-shell peanuts. I yielded to temptation and I annihilated those peanuts. Then I thought, “I should take a picture.” Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, this photo of empty husks laying in a heap… dried out and desiccated like little mummies waiting to be dumped into the unmarked grave of the compost bin. Mmm, delicious, little mummies. Morbid or not – I like the photo, and that’s what matters.
I’m quite proud of how this turned out, though it is much more impressive to see on a 20″ monitor. Originally I took this in color. I was going to go for black and white, but I didn’t get there because I really liked how sepia turned out. I cropped the original to what you see here. And there you go.
My gear: Canon 30D with a Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II
