I was sitting at the dining table the other day, working on some things and there was this fancy, embossed-glass pie plate in front of me, laden with salted, roasted, in-shell peanuts, tempting me.  I love salted, roasted, in-shell peanuts.  I yielded to temptation and I annihilated those peanuts.  Then I thought, “I should take a picture.”  Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, this photo of empty husks laying in a heap… dried out and desiccated like little mummies waiting to be dumped into the unmarked grave of the compost bin.  Mmm, delicious, little mummies.  Morbid or not – I like the photo, and that’s what matters.

I’m quite proud of how this turned out, though it is much more impressive to see on a 20″ monitor.  Originally I took this in color.  I was going to go for black and white, but I didn’t get there because I really liked how sepia turned out.  I cropped the original to what you see here.  And there you go.

My gear:  Canon 30D with a Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II

Actually that’s pretty cool. I too like to play around with camera and it’s always fun trying to find a new way to shoot a subject/model or an object to portray it in a different light or setting.

  2. Not many people can say they captured the annihilation of their peanuts. It’s amazing!!

  3. I also have a weakness for the delicious goodness that is salted, in-shell peanuts! And the photo is fabulous! I really like it!
