I work part-time in the construction industry… in the office.  Mostly, I’m the Office Ninja, but I am also The Collector.  Guido.  The swinger of the baseball bat and breaker of knuckles.  The Bulldog.  I wear many hats here at the office, but my favorite job is Collections.

Yes.  I do know that that sounds weird.

As part of my job, I send out late notices at 16-, 30- and 45-days.  These notices are sent out on color-coded paper, blue, yellow and orange.  When I got into the office this morning, imagine my surprise when I found an envelope with a Post-It attached from a coworker saying they didn’t know what it was.  What it was, was the lower two-thirds of a 30-Day notice with the message, “DON’T BE A HATER SARAH  🙂 ” (see the note below… and please, enjoy my artwork)

So this is why I call it “hate mail”… because allegedly I’M the hater for doing my job (and I’m damn good at it).  There are a few things in life that bring out the snarky side of me – Collections is one of them.  People/Companies that dodge paying their bills really irk me.  Why?  Because they aren’t hurting just the company I work for but every company down the line that we have to pay.  I would really like to call up this company, inquire who sent the letter back and then let them have it.

“Gosh, I’m so sorry that you can’t manage to pay the $75 we invoiced to you, on time.”

“I’m sorry you were offended that I pointed out you’re incapable of paying your bills.”

“Oh, you’re upset about getting a letter stating that you’re a deadbeat?”

Okay.  That’s what I have right now.  Between that and getting a call from the alleged son  of the owner of a company that has been calling our office and sexually harassing me and the other female (owner’s wife) for three years (yes… three years *sigh*), and attempting to Google the information that guy gave me… it’s been a busy day of detective work.

A few higher notes:

• I have started running again for the first time since my trip to the ER in March.  I restarted the Couch-to-5K training on Sunday and completed my second night of running.  I’ve worked out four nights in a row!  I’m on a roll!
• My chickens have started laying eggs on a normal schedule again.
• It’s less than 60 days until I take off on my next vacation.
• I have a photo shoot on Sunday that I’m really looking forward to!
