Happy Fancy Coffee Friday, Dear Readers!!
For those of you playing along at home – I’m on vacation, Mr. Muse and I having been invited to join the fine folks of The Naturist Society in sunny Playa Pelada, Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, at the lovely Casa Banda with hosts Bibi and Arne. How is that for a mouthful?
While everyone in Wisconsin has been dealing with dreary weather – I’ve been soaking up the rays down here in Central America (and it shows… in various shades of red and pink), as well as checking out all the really cool bugs (they are the size of my HEAD! Well… maybe not quite that big) and I even made it past the halfway point of vacation before breaking out in a rash from something. I’d call that success.
I have taken tons of photos, both on my phone and with my actual camera, enjoyed a lot of good food with great people (all but two of whom I’d never met before) and have been spotting howler monkeys in the distance. Okay, admittedly I have also been thinking, “How can I move to Costa Rica?” I have lots to report, an article to write for TNS and tons of photos to go through. Meanwhile…. here was the view from my lounge chair yesterday morning:
How is it that I both like you more, and thoroughly hate you, after a single blog post?!
Enjoy the vacation — it’s well-deserved.
Because I’m special? LOL!
Thank you – I’m definitely not ready to leave Costa Rica yet… two more days here and I think I could stay a heck of a lot longer.
The pic of that pool with the blue LIQUID contents could really make a person jealous. Temp here is 17 degrees. That means increase of at least 16 degrees before sun could begin any kind of thaw!!! Enjoy your time off – we’ll expect details over the holidays.
It was 97 degrees in the shade when I took that photo yesterday morning – Mr. Muse is MUCH more red than I am – after sun aloe gel to the rescue; that was even after a very liberal application of sun screen. I am pink in areas that hadn’t gotten exposed earlier in the week – but it’s hard to say if it’s all sun or some sun and some rash. The Benadryl is helping, as is the hydrocortisone. I never vacation without them!
Details and photos will definitely be shared.
Thanks for staying with us! I just learned today that the thermometer got knocked to the concrete floor and got “bent” so it’s showing about 9F (5C) too much. We will have to get a new thermometer, so it is not soo hot here 🙂
Hope your trip home went well and we also hope to see you again sometime.
Pura Vida, Arne
Thank YOU for being such fantastic hosts and helping the whole group get around. The heat, even if it was “artificial” due to an inaccurate thermometer was much appreciated.
The trip home went great, though I think half of the people on both of our flights were sick with colds – so we’re dosing ourselves with extra vitamin C to fend off any germs we may have picked up.
We’d LOVE to come back. 😀
All of this and not a mention of Costa Rica coffee ?? Sounds awesome and hope you enjoy as much as possible before returning to your polar state ! LOL ! Definitely looking forward to future articles and photos. 🙂
I had coffee this morning at breakfast down the trail at La Lagarta Lodge. Initially I was thinking it was pretty weak coffee – that is until I sat down at my computer to start on an article and my hands were shaking! Casa Banda is a beautiful place to stay and I can say that I’d come back here again.
Enjoy every last second of that beautiful sunshine!
Thank you! I am 😀
When I go someplace I invite you! 😦
Enjoy, but don’t fry.

Parts of me got fairly dark, some just red/pink and then add to that a rash – though we’re still not sure if it’s heat rash or rash from allergic reaction. Either way – it’s all good – that’s why I pack hydrocortisone and Benadryl.
Would you have even enjoyed spending a week with 10 strangers in a foreign country? How about a nude cruise?
Nope, and nope. But the temperature sounds pretty good right about now.
Hugs from the frozen north.
Oops! Sorry.
Tip of the hat from the frozen north.
LMAO You curmudgeon, you!
Enjoy your vacation !
Thanks! I am 😀
