It’s a little like the Harlem Shake…. no, not really. It’s more akin to some lonely World of Warcraft player sitting alone in his mother’s basement drinking copious amounts of Mountain Dew (btw – did you know one of the ingredients in that stuff is FLAME RETARDANT!?) and eating Doritos (they melt – not burn – when you put them in a fire. I’ve tried it.).
So, why am I working on SEO. Oh, a few reasons. Firstly, to make it easier for people to find my super-awesome blog! YAY!!! Secondly, I’ve had people liking, starring or commenting on old posts in the last couple days and upon review of said posts (travel ones so far), I didn’t really tag them well, didn’t categorize them well. To be honest, I didn’t do a great job of linking places or things and I wanted to tweak my wording a touch here or there. Hey, I was a noob – cut me a little slack.
So, by their going back and reading old posts, these folks inadvertently helped me out by kicking my butt to work on SEO. Those lousy sonsofbitches…. Okay, I kid, I KID! It’s a really good thing, but it will take me a while.
I’ve got some post ideas that I’m working on too, along with the article for N Magazine for which I’m on edit Number Three. Style, Structure and Flow… Curiously enough my stream-of-consciousness writing doesn’t necessarily transfer well to magazine articles.
HEY! I just realized that they’re trying to make me CONFORM!!! BOOOO!!!
Wait…. Hold on. Lemme untwist my undies. I guess in the grand scheme of things, occasional conformation to the status quo, in that it may earn me a paycheck for doing something I enjoy (that would be writing), isn’t exactly a bad thing.
Just don’t expect me to conform all the time! Nah… they don’t want me to do that… if I was just another sheep they wouldn’t have asked me to write it in the first place.
Yeah, let’s go with that.
