09/09/2012 Sunday Search Terms and Project 365 – Random Facts:247-253

Happy Sunday Dear Readers!

I hope you’ve all had a productive week.  Mine started off with working on Sunday, followed with a photo shoot on Monday at Honey Creek State Natural Area.  I was modeling in the creek, which apparently is home to schistosomes aka Swimmer’s Itch. BOO!!!  So, yes, as a matter of fact, I was infested with parasites that died immediately upon entering my dermis and caused raised, itchy bumps.  It’s great.  My skin, where the schistosomes burrowed in, looks… lovely.  At least it’ll eventually go away.

I’ve gotten it two other times; once swimming in my Great/Grand Uncles pond and the other time was two years ago after being in the Wisconsin River.  If you’ve never gotten Swimmer’s Itch – congratulations.  I would not wish this intense itching upon anyone.

The rest of the week was work, work and more work.  Even my weekend was working, both at job #2, or what I affectionately call “BBQ Camp”, and around the house pulling weeds and moving some herbs from a raised bed to a planting bed closer to the house.  We also integrated our young chickens who are 16 weeks old in with the “big chickens”.  We integrated them in the evening and made sure that everyone was well fed and had scratch grain to keep themselves occupied.  We also had a nice storm move through the area which seems to cause everyone to head into the barn and find a roost early.  So far so good.  The young roosters will eventually end up in the freezer once we’ve determined how many we really have.  At this time, we can only discern one rooster that is actively crowing.

I’ve been trying to keep up with my writing here, Dear Readers, and feel that you, like my other friends, have been neglected due to all of the working I’ve been doing.  Even my working out as become neglected as after a day of BBQ Camp, I’m exhausted, sore and only want to hit the showers and fall asleep.  I’m going to try to get a mid-week post out in addition to the Saturday and Sunday posts.  I know I won’t be able to keep up what feels like working nonstop forever, but it’s for the “greater good”, and don’t we all do things for the “greater good” when we’re called?

On that note, let’s get to those search terms, shall we?  This weeks winner for Top Search Term is:  baling hay.  My goodness aren’t there a lot of curious monkey’s about baling hay!?  I am very fond of baling sessions, no matter how hard the work was, the company, the teasing and the camaraderie were always worth it in the end… well, that and the satisfaction of a job well-done.

Honorable Mention for Search Terms this week is: a monkey and a dog.  This week’s Honorable Mention was also selected by DH… and let me tell you… there were other search terms and phrases that were cracking me up, but “A monkey and a dog” is it.  It’s a beautiful love story and it begins with the forbidden love between a monkey and a dog in the jungle.  *insert some Pulp Fiction music now*  It was a love that could never last.  It was forbidden.  Hell, it was between a monkey and a dog!  What do you think was going to happen?

Let’s get to the search terms!

Random Facts

Random Fact #247 – I clip coupons and use them.

This is definitely harder to do having to cut out gluten and dairy.  I try to use as many coupons as I can, and laugh if you will, but it’s that much less that I pay at the checkout.

Random Fact #248 – I yell at the people on TV when watching shows like Destination Truth.

So this one time… on “Destination Truth”… they were in a crater and kept freaking out over various sounds.  I was on my couch yelling, “It’s a HYENA!! Stop being a DOUCHEBAG!”  Cause that’s how I roll…

Random Fact #249 – I like to listen to George Clinton and The Parliament Funkadelic.

Some days are just meant for Funk.

Random Fact #250 – I like to wear bandanas on my head.

I have them in a rainbow of colors, though I am missing quite a few colors… like purple, neon green, orange, baby blue…

Random Fact #251 – I often tuck my chosen writing utensil behind my ear or “contractor-style” – up under my cap/do-rag.

It’s convenient, one or the other.  I learned the contractor tuck in front of the ear when I started in the construction field.  Very handy!

Random Fact #252 – I have “contributor” credits in a pin-up magazine supporting war vets.

That’s right, I’m in there… in the credits for Project Pinup

Random Fact #253 – I have had a non-speaking role in a commercial.

The commercial is for Delta College and is airing in and around the Baton Rouge, LA, area.

Thanks for tuning in to this weeks Sunday Search terms and Project 365!
