09/02/2012 Sunday Search Terms and Project 365 – Random Facts: 240-246

Good Morning Dear Readers,

What a week.  Work, work and more work.  Friday after spending most of the day at “BBQ Camp”, I got to head out a bit early and it was hot ‘n sticky here in SW Wisconsin and I thought a Gin and Tonic sounded mighty refreshing.  I stopped off at the local “Grocery & Everything-including-bait” store and bought myself a lime and a bottle of gin (I was out), this time New Amsterdam Gin, and headed on home.  Pulling up to the house I decided my plans to clean in the house would be put on hold so I could mow the lawn.

Mowing here in the Wisconsin River Valley is dusty, dirty work that takes me two hours (I have a lot of mowing to do).  On a hot day, I sweat, the dirt sticks and I come back into the house looking like I was working in a coal mine for a while.  After a 2-hour stint of lawn mowing, I like to shower off all the filth (we have ultra-fine silica sand… it gets EVERYWHERE), and as I passed my cell phone on the counter I tapped a button to check for messages and low-and-behold, there was a voicemail.  The little voice in my head said, “Listen to that after your shower…”  But I flipped open my phone anyway and saw DH had called.  He’d been running errands after work in Madison and I figured it was a call saying he’d be gone longer than expected.  What his message said, however, was that after he’d gotten our truck fully loaded with literally a ton of railroad ties, dimensional lumber and drywall… the brake line blew on the truck.  He left the message while he was waiting for the tow truck and I had to go pick him up at the mechanic’s.  No shower or Gin & Tonic for me.

My Friday night went from relaxing shower followed by Gin & Tonic to making multiple runs into Madison with a trailer to unload the lumber, drywall and railroad ties.  I tumbled into bed (after a shower not followed by a G & T) late and was up early again yesterday to once again, make another run to unload booty from the truck (RR ties are VERY heavy) before working again at BBQ Camp.  After work, DH and I made three more runs into Madison, getting the last of the RR ties home and unloaded at 845 PM.  A shower, a salad and a much-anticipated-‘Goddamn Gin & Tonic!’ later I briefly caught up with a couple of messages and had to crash.  I was utterly exhausted (as I type this… I’m not much better).

Today is another day at BBQ Camp, a short day, and then back home where I’ll be preparing for a photo shoot on Monday.  No rest for the wicked… at least not a lot.

On that note, let’s see what the Search Terms are for the last week!

This weeks top Search Term is:  stomach.  That’s it?  Stomach?  Not “upset stomach”.  Not “stomach pain”.  Just “stomach”.  Curious.

Honorable mention goes to:  i am not cool thinking about the sites.  Um?  Which sites?  My site?  Someone else’s site?  Not cool, Man… not cool.

What is cool?  Random Facts!

Random Facts: 240 – 246

Random Fact #240 –I used to pet-sit for a 12’ python named “Liam”.

Pet-sitting for Liam was easy, there were three cats in the house, too.  Find all the cats, clean litter boxes, feed cats, check on Liam (mostly his enclosure).  Check the locks, check the seams, make sure he had water (the owner always took care of feeding him – he only ate once a month… a rabbit) and make sure Liam was IN the enclosure.  Easy Peasy.

Random Fact #241 – “Funk” is one of my favorite music genres.

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.  If you’ve never listened – you should.

Random Fact #242 – I can type an average of 75+ words per minute.

The dawning of chat rooms helped out tremendously in advancing my typing speed.

Random Fact #243 – I will often “hold it” as long as I can, even dancing in my seat, before I give up and take myself to the loo.

Usually what happens is that I get involved in something and keep thinking “I’m almost done… I’m almost done.”  I’m never “almost done”.

Rules of the road, however, are “never pass up an opportunity to pee”.  You never know how long you’ve got between restrooms.

Random Fact #244 – I find that I developed the habit of rubbing the roof of my mouth with the tip of my tongue when I’m doing mindless tasks.

I don’t know when I started this other than within the last year, I just happened to notice one day that I was doing it.  Odd.

Random Fact #245 – I prefer silver jewelry to gold.

This is probably because I have pale skin in the “cool” tones.  I just think silver looks better.

Random Fact #246 – I feed the birds.

I have over a dozen feeders and a VERY happy flock of neighborhood song birds.

Thanks for tuning in for another episode of Sunday Search Terms and Random Facts!
