Happy Sunday, Dear Readers!
What a crazy busy week. I’ve honestly been working a lot and am just plum wore out between jobs 1 and 2 and home – hence the radio, well internet, silence. Not that I’m not writing mind you, just writing things out long-hand and commenting on everyone’s blogs. I’ll be keeping up with my Questions of the Day on Saturdays and the Random Facts on Sundays, but otherwise I’ll be posting when I can. Sometimes we all put ourselves through an obstacle course for the greater good – in this case, working as much as I can to save up for some expenses that will be “surprising” us in the next year – like replacing the washing machine, gutters on the garage and barn and… vacations!
This weeks news from the farmstead is… The Happy Chickens have been subjected to confusion. We’ve created them a new chicken door out into our corral and pasture in hopes to keep them out of the yard and tearing up the flower and vegetable gardens. It’s taken nearly all week, but they’ve got it figured out that they now go out the small door into the corral and pasture and we’ve hadn’t had them get out and run around the yard. No chicken poop on the front porch! This is what dreams are made of!
The other major news is that we had some much-needed rain in the form of storms and one large (about 20″ in diameter) oak tree snapped off about 25′ above the ground and onto our fence. Thankfully the fence wire didn’t break though one insulator did. Sadly, when it fell, it snapped off the top of another oak and left a ragged wound – so that’s one more tree to come down. Then while clearing out brush, we discovered another oak with a cracked trunk infested with bugs – so that will come down as well. We have a lot of lumber-jacking to do around here.
With all of that said – let’s get to the Search Terms! This weeks Top Search Term is: Indeed. HUZZAH for Indeed!!! Since the word has made an obvious presence in my vernacular and I’ve been saying it all the time… it appears the usage of the word is contagious. I’m hearing it and seeing it as comments in various social networks. It’s GREAT. Just so you all know… using the word “Indeed” is part of my plan to take over the world.
The Honorable Mention Search Term of the week is: giant worm come up by vibration. Seeing this search term made me laugh out loud. The mental picture didn’t have anything to do with a giant worm…
And now, before I get too racy… To the facts!
Random Facts 205 – 211
Random Fact #205 – I love my camping/hiking pants with zip-off legs.
Mine are Mountain Hardwear pants… in grey. They are the best pants! Comfortable. Shed water. Zip off into knee-length when warm. They have thigh pockets that zip. I love these pants!
Random Fact #206 – I think that there ARE such things as dumb questions; and way too many people ask them.
This really doesn’t need much explaining…
Random Fact #207 – I do not like to be controlled or told that I MUST do something with few exceptions (like work).
I can be in a good mood and it is instantly dashed as soon as someone tells me that I must do something. I don’t have to do jack! And I shall add, “Whatevah! I do what I want!”
Random Fact #208 – I do not like to control other people.
You do your thing… I’ll do mine.
Random Fact #209 – I collect quotes.
I have mostly funny quotes. Lots by old Hollywood stars. Lots by funny ladies of TV from the 1950s – 1980s. A lot by Buddha. Quotes that I come across that just really speak to me for what’s going on in my life at that time. Right now, the one that speaks to me is:
Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence. ~Buddha
Random Fact #210 – I would like to learn how to play Bridge.
I’ve always wondered at the bridge layouts in the newspaper and the fact that you’d hear about ladies lunching and playing bridge. I’ve been fascinated ever since I was a youngster. Once day, I hope to learn how to play the game.
Random Fact #211 – I don’t like Grape Kool-Aid.
Nasty. Disgusting. Vile. I don’t understand why so many people like it.
Thanks for stopping by and tune in next Sunday for another round of Search Terms and Random Facts!
Couldn’t agree more about dumb questions…oh, they’re out there and they seem to be breeding. That’s funny about the Bridge card game. I remember on old TV shows hearing the women chatting about Bridge…it really does seem intriguing.
Growing up in a household where my parents played Sheepshead (which I still don’t get), I’m not sure how I’d fare with Bridge, but I’m enchanted with the idea of learning how to play it; in a way I feel a bit like The Good Greatsby with my delusions of coolness (not that he’s delusional, but I’ll let him speak for himself when he’s done with his yachting crowd) when I can ask, “Do you play Bridge? No? How unfortunate… I’m having such a bother trying to find other reputable Ladies with whom to play. Playing the game is such a rousing good time.”
