04/01/2012 Sunday Search Terms and Project 365: Facts 86-92

Today’s Sunday Search Term Winner is:  circular form shapes that are used to make clothes.  While I do sew, I don’t think I’ve blogged about sewing, so I’m perplexed at how this search term brought 16 people to my blog this week.  Hello!  Welcome!  The next winner (there are two this week) is:  Anna Faris Feet.  I selected Anna Faris to play me in a movie about myself in response to a Question of the Day, and I’ve blogged about how runners have ugly feet.  Apparently Google put two and two together to bring someone with a foot fetish regarding Anna Faris to my site.  Awesome.

That takes us to….

Project 365:  Facts 86 – 92

Random Fact #86 – My dad took my brother and I to see the movie The Dark Crystal when it came out (1982) and I spent the first minutes on the floor of the theatre, then I walked out and sat in the lobby.

The Skeksis were scary SOBs; add to that the fact that they were draining the “essence” from the Gelflings, leaving them shriveled up little zombified husks, had me deeply disturbed as a 6 year old.

Random Fact #87 – I’m an Empath.

Being an Empath can be difficult.  You either allow everyone else’s emotions to bombard you or you build up your walls to keep everyone’s emotions from affecting you too deeply and then people think you’re cold and heartless.  You have to learn how to differentiate between your true emotions and those of everyone else.  I avoid negative people and people who are always depressed – it’s just too difficult to be around them.

Random Fact #88 – I collect socks. The sillier, the better.

Shortie’s, knee-highs, over-the-knee and thigh-highs.  ALL socks are fair game.  The sillier the better, though my most recent favorite pair is one that my niece gave me, white with metallic purple, pink, green and blue argyle.

Random Fact #89 – I’m a novice Oenophile.

I’m learning as much as I can about wine in all its forms.  I have my favorites (Fat Cat Muscat) and I have the ones I like least (Chardonnay).  Wine, despite what many people think, isn’t all snobbery.  The “rules” I hear repeated over and over is that there are no rules.  Drink what you like at whatever temperature you want to drink it at.

Random Fact #90 – I have awards for singing.

Yep.  I do.  My mom used to bug me about singing in church (I wouldn’t), and I told her that it was too hard to compete with the biddies who sang loudly and off-key.  I was asked to sing for a wedding once (declined) and Mom reminded me that I sang a solo for one of the songs from Sister Act in High School, and didn’t tell anyone I was doing it.  (I think Mom is my biggest fan.)

Random Fact #91 – I’m a certified state and county fair judge in: Nature Space, Booths, Flowers, Houseplants, Crops, Fruits & Vegetables, Cloverbuds, Exploring, Horses and Goats.

That’s a lot of things to be certified/licensed to judge.  I’ve judged a few fairs in the past, but haven’t judged for a few years now.  Last year I was asked to judge a fair, but I was already booked.

Random Fact #92 – I have played soccer for a total of 19 years.

A few years ago I started playing again with a group in Madison but unfortunately, after a year, playing was put on hold due to injury-by-horse and then heart stuff.  I would really like to get back to a place where I can start playing once again.

The injury by horse is always a tough one. Its not like you can get right back on when you are on the soccer pitch. With polo you have a fighting chance. Soccer not so much. I hope to still be a
watching my daughter play 19 years form now. Good luck with the healing.
