I’ve had what I affectionately call a “semi-smart phone” for a few years, and it’s time to upgrade. But, what to upgrade to? I have US Cellular for a carrier, which does not charge me for incoming texts or calls – many, if not most, other carriers charge for these things, so I’m loathe to change.
I hear great things about Androids, Blackberries and iPhones (which would require my switching providers).
I already know I need/want some of the following:
- ability to make or receive calls and texts internationally
- 4G
- full QWERTY keyboard
- touchscreen
So, ta dah! My first poll on my blog!!!
I was a Blackberry girl through two phones…..then my husband convinced me I needed an iPhone. Oh my word!! I don’t think I will ever go back to a Blackberry. The iPhone is awesome.
This is good to know! I have a handful of friends who have iPhones, but I’d have to switch to Verizon or AT&T if I got one. It’s going to take some serious convincing to get me to switch networks. 🙂
Apple/Mac all the way.
Okay, I have to ask. Why the iPhone? What makes it leaps and bounds better? Is it just like the Nikon/Canon debate with cameras?
I am on my second Blackberry now and although I haven’t had any real problems with either of them. (apart from dropping them on several occasions and messing with the settings/apps too much causing device failure., My own fault!.) My Son got an i-phone for his birthday and I have to say they make the Blackberry seem rather antique like. Great for Social Networking, Browsing, Streaming Media and storing Data. The Graphics are wicked! Awesome applications for downloads and it looks pretty darn cool too. I Will definitely be choosing the iPhone next time. 🙂
This is good to know! Thank you! I was out at dinner with some friends Friday, and one of them has an iPhone that he “piggybacks” on a friends plan. I asked if he would get another, and he said “No”, BUT – he is an engineer and his reasoning was that with the Android he can Root-it-out and would be tweaking it all the time, so HIS choice is for an Android. I have 31 days to figure out what I’m getting, as I want a new phone with international capabilities before I head out on my next adventure!
