I work at a construction office, and due to Mother Nature throwing some major hail storms our way in the last eighteen months, we’re the busiest we’ve been since before I started to work there over three years ago. What I find interesting is that so many of the calls we’re getting are from people who were paid out by their insurance companies a year ago, and they had to have the work done. NOW, because they sat on the money, the insurance companies are threatening to have them pay it back.
These people call all in a panic because they waited until the last-minute, and then give me an earful because I’m not being sympathetic to their predicament. They, of course, do not care that we’re booking work out into next spring already for people who DID plan ahead. To that I say: Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
