Once in a while I find myself overcome with the desire to slap everyone and scoff at everything. Today was one of those days. Though the day started normal enough, I found my attitude slipping towards “I hate everyone and everything,” by lunchtime.

I shut off social media, had an early release from work, got some grocery shopping done, picked up Mr. Muse, warned him of my rather prickly mood (he appreciates the warning), stopped off on a quick errand, and we headed for home.
On our errand I declared that I needed water and salt. Really. Don’t ask. But, I grabbed some dry-roasted peanuts and a bottle of water. On the ride home I ate some peanuts and downed some water as told Mr. Muse about all of the irritating things that happened all day long and philosophized about them and how I could have avoided the whole thing altogether.

Irritation Level Code Red changed to more of a yellow hue; and, in hindsight, I probably should have had a bit more sodium today – nutrition is key, kids.

Walking into the house, we were greeted by our two elderly cats who I snuggled and then all seemed a little bit better with the world. The goats made me laugh, the chickens had a productive day, and I have a “Jose margarita“* at my side.
I’m better now.

*So the other week for National Margarita Day I stopped at the liquor store to pick up some tequila and triple sec. The clerk made the comment, “Oh, you make them from scratch?” After thinking, “Yes, we make them from scratch. Who doesn’t?” I just smiled and said, “Yep”. Here’s the recipe from Jose the waiter at Pancho’s Backyard in Cozumel, Mexico:
Equal parts Tequila, Triple Sec, and lime juice. Shake it over ice. Rim the glass in salt if so desired.
I cheat and use a pint mason jar most of the time. Pour everything in over the ice, screw on a top, shake, remove the top, drink from pint jar. Enjoy.
