My last post was over a week ago, and I spoke of heading off to Indiana on a road trip with a photographer – I’m alive and well (if you haven’t been watching my tweets on Twitter) and the weekend produced some good images. Feel free to head over to Dave’s site, Marcell in the Mornings, and peruse what was taken (and Mom, unless you want to see me naked, you probably don’t want to go see what was taken). For the rest of you pervs – feel free to go take a look. Happy Sunday. Feel free to say, “Amen”.
Mr. Muse and I have been hard at work around the homestead with yardwork. Mowing the lawn, trimming, splitting perennials and moving them to new locations, adding dirt to the raised garden beds and mulching the flower beds. We’ve been hitting hard at the To-Do List. Throw into the mix a little kamikaze action by the three pairs of hummingbirds nesting near the house as well as the newly hatched-and-hungry swarm of mosquitoes, we’ve been operating at double-time.
This weekend was a much-appreciated long holiday weekend and this coming work-week is short week for me, too. My employer gives us one day off every other week (for me it’s Friday) when we work long days, so I’ll be whizzing through my three days on to enjoy a three-day weekend. Mr. Muse and I are also heading to a family reunion today for my Mom’s side of the family; it’s been two years and it’s definitely time to visit with relatives.
Above and beyond all of that, Mr. Muse and I were asked to again be part of the staff for the February 2015 Big Nude Boat with Bare Necessities. We said, “YES!” How could we not? We have been so lucky to be asked to be involved with a great bunch of people.

And lastly, with all of the hard work that we’ve been putting in around the yard this week and weekend, Mr. Muse had the brilliant idea of making “bacon fat fries” for dinner last night along with some burgers on the grill. He was inspired by the “Duck Fat Fries” that he and friends tried (they were not gluten free so I lived vicariously through them) some weeks back at A Pig In A Fur Coat in Madison. Let me just say that Bacon Fat Fries are…. DELICIOUS! However, I wouldn’t recommend making them every day. Okay, you can make them every day, but you probably don’t want to EAT them every day. Okay… maybe you do – they were that delicious.
Have a great Sunday!
