Lazy Sunday

Sleeping in on weekends is one of those things I haven’t indulged in too much in the last few years, but the last few weekends I’ve done just that and today was no different.  I thought about rolling out of bed at the crack of 7, and again at 8, but the siren song of my pillow held me captive.  Even the sound of the birds in the yard couldn’t rouse me from the grip my bed had on me despite the more urgent ache that had begun in my back.

I fortified myself with a Banana-Muskmelon-Blueberry smoothie, caught up on emails and now I find myself parked on my comfortable couch with the laptop, coffee and catching up on DVRd programs like TLC’s “Who Do You Think You Are” as I attempt to blow out what feels like another sinus infection coming on.   Damn allergies.

Mostly, I’ve re energized with time well-spent in the Bat Cave, though I know that I will probably be making Sundays my day to retreat to it for recharging.  Mr. Muse asked me this morning what my plans for the day were and I was proud and relieved to say, “Absolutely nothing”.  Inevitably, I don’t do absolutely nothing, laundry is in the dryer, dishes will be washed, laundry will be put away.  Life continues to move along even if you’re sequestering yourself in the Bat Cave.

So, Dear Readers, how do you spend your Sundays?  Do you keep them relaxed and spend time recharging yourself for the coming week or do you hit things hard and go, go, go?

I’m in pro of lazy Sundays. Some I will exercise but not too early. Normally go out for lunch and watch movies.

going out for lunch and watching movies isn’t a bad thing at all. I’ve been hitting the DVR hard… and finishing off the beer and Skinny Girl Margaritas…. which are by no means a comparison of the margaritas I got at Pancho’s Backyard in Cozumel, Mex.

The best laid plans or lack thereof….etc etc….I try to make my Sundays a total laze fest but life has this way of creeping in on my vibe. Summers, because they are so short are usually full but come football season, well, we can leave it at that!

Life always has a way of sneaking in, doesn’t it? I am happy to report that my plans were successful and I lazed about the whole day.

Breakfast, chores, cut some lawn, watched as oldest grandson put finishing touches on his fair project with the help of his Dad – took a nap, made a roast for supper and finished up with an evening crochet session with oldest granddaughter as she worked on her fair project. Yea, that’s how my Sunday went!

Sounds like a busier Sunday than what I had – not necessarily a bad thing.
