The rain gauge said three inches of rain had been received in the last 24 hours. Thankfully, we’re up higher than the surrounding areas… which will probably be flooding this morning as the run-off wends it’s way down from the hills. We needed the rain. The flowers in my front yard prairie were starting to curl up in effort to preserve themselves from the heat. In the meanwhile, the sun is shining now.
Also, I was smart and scattered more flower seeds into the prairie before the rains came yesterday.
So, I’ve had an eventful month. A new job with reliable, full-time hours and more money. My first published article in a print magazine (I have to write about that yet). Created my first website badge complete with html code for The Identity Project, a photographic exhibit and project by William Zuback. Go ahead – click on it. Support it. I bought the T-shirt!
And…. well. My dog died. That was hard. It’s still hard. I catch myself missing “the little things”. So many of my readers had taken the time to express their condolences and I truly appreciate it. I have never been very good about appropriate reaction to compliments or condolences. People who’ve heard about Shiloh in person have all said, “Oh, I’m so sorry” and I hesitate a moment and say, “Oh, it’s okay.” So, thank you all.
This week I also posted my first Vlog. I already know what I want to do different next time, but I thought the length was good. Under three minutes! WOO! Now, the question is – what should I talk about in the next vlog?
Other things of note:
-I have nearly finished reading “The Paleo Diet: Lose Weight And Get Healthy By Eating The Food You Were Designed To Eat” which I am finding very interesting and since going gluten-free and mostly dairy- and soy-free, many of my meals already fall into “Paleo” territory… except for my love of vinegars and mustards. And bacon. I love bacon.
-I switched up my Netflix account so that Mr. Muse and I get unlimited streaming video to two devices and one disc at home at a time. Mr. Muse has been under the weather all weekend and has employed the Wii game console for streaming movies and he LOVES it. I also love having two monitors; play a movie on one and work on the other.
-My left knee has been jacked up since Mr. Muse and I hiked at Wyalusing State Park last weekend. I’ve been resting it up, going easy on the working out and… didn’t wear high heels for the last week. Chances are, the high heels are the reason for the being jacked up.
-I finally watched the movie “The Blind Side” and yes, it made me cry. It is such a great movie!! I highly recommend watching it.
Now, since there were comments about “Prancersize” videos on YouTube, I’ll leave you all with the original prancercising – a phenomenal dressage routine by a horse that clearly enjoys what she is doing.
What would you like to see me vlog about next?
Do you stream movies via Netflix?
What are your thoughts about Prancersize?
That horse prancersizes much better than me ! LOL Awesome ! Love horses and many other animals ! I miss riding horses as a kid ! Understood them better than people ! Suttle motions , body language and the tone and attitude of your voice was very important ! Not sure about the diet thing ! Never had much luck sticking to one ! Can i ask why anyone would wish to go Soy Free , Always thought soy was very very good for your body as a source of protein ? I am really sorry to hear of your dog passing on to heaven ! Made me cry ( I have lost some wonderful pets )so yes it hurts! As for topics for VLOG, well whatever your creative mind desires ! 🙂 The world is your oyster , pry them shells apart and take a gander! LOL
On the soy-free, the issue was discovered when I went gluten-free that soy was also an issue for me. Honestly, the more I read about soy, the less I want to eat it: most of the USA crop is GMO and unfermented soy, which is how most of the US eats it, messes with your hormones.
Sometimes when it rains these days it just doesn’t just rain. It seems to go completely mad
HA! Indeed! Just 20 minutes from the house the highway is closed due to LANDSLIDES! Areas of the state west of where I am got over 9 inches of rain in one day – that’s a whole LOT of rain!
Hey girl !! You alright up there ?? Understand there is flooding in your area.
We’re all good here! We just have the “normal” flooding around our place that we get with heavy rains; water across the roads in the spots that it normally floods. There is much worse flooding damage to the west of here.
Glad you’re safe with no issues. Hot and muggy here,100 today. Going to the nude resort Saturday, think Kim is taking her massage table and oils so she can give a few massages.
To that I say, “Green with Envy!”
I really need a good deep tissue massage to dissolve some knots.
