Good Sunday Morning, Friends!
I hope Life and the Fates are treating you well; things around here have been quite good considering being laid off. Overall, I really don’t have too much to talk about today, although you never know what’ll happen if I get on a tangent. We’re under threat of Winter Storm Luna and currently most of the miserable stuff is south of us right now. Hopefully it arrives earlier than expected today (we need the moisture) and the roads will be safe for tomorrow’s commute for Mr. Muse. And hey – maybe we’ll get some ice on the trees that will make lovely photos!
I’ve been experimenting with meal planning, as I’ve spoken of before, and this week found my whole plan nearly scrapped due to underestimating servings of things I have made. Later today Mr. Muse and I need to sit down and go over what we have for leftovers (lots of pizza) and determine what we’ll make to use all of it up in the next two weeks. Speaking of two weeks from now – we got our cruise information (finally)! Mr. Muse and I will be going over excursions and picking what we would like to see while we’re in port. I’ve gotten a briefing of what to expect from the photographer who got me in the door with the folks running the charter, and I’ll have Brutus the Laptop along to take notes (yes, I’ll be working a little bit while on vacation) as I was asked to write a review article for the fine folks over at Home Clothes Free!
Winter-time lay-offs mean that between the cleaning (it only takes me an hour or two to clean) and working out, I have a fair amount of time to fill, so I chisel away at my Netflix list of movies. I’ve watched No Reservations, 27 Dresses, 10,000 B.C., Last Holiday and The Kite Runner in the last week. Up next I have Coraline, Australia and a movie I’m not sure I’ll be watching (although it does have Christopher Walken in it) Brainstorm. Brainstorm is one of those movies where Mr. Muse and I saw it on the list and wondered who added it and when was it added, and then we decided that Netflix must have put it on there for us to watch. I’ve also been chipping away at the two books I mentioned two weeks ago – so there’s that.
I’ve determined with my working out that I might not be able to run a 5K like I was hoping for; yes, yes, you can all say, “Awww”, now. It appears that my “Live hard. Play harder.” philosophy has bitten me in the ass, or rather the knees, in that respect. I get about three weeks in on the training and start getting a sharp, “stabby” pain under my right kneecap. If I don’t run, the problem goes away. Walking and cycling are fine so… looks like I have my answer. Of course, there is no saying I can’t walk a 5K.
In other news, I’ve nearly finished another crochet project – another gift – and I’ll have to take photos when it’s completed. Then I can start on the next project that has to be done by April. Once that has been completed, I decided that I might have to walk around the house and gather up the mostly-finished, half-finished or “just started” projects I have lying about or shut away in boxes and drawers and take photos of them and remind myself that they must be finished.
And that’s all I have for today, Friends. Life is good and I will leave you with this quote today:
“A lifetime isn’t forever, so take the first chance, don’t wait for the second one! Because sometimes, there aren’t second chances! And if it turns out to be a mistake? So what! This is life! A whole bunch of mistakes! But if you never get a second chance at something you didn’t take a first chance at? That’s true failure.” ― C. JoyBell C.
